Optimal and Robust Control

One of the practically-oriented and proof-free recently published books on optimization that attracted my attention (and my wallet too) has been made available for free (in electronic version) by the authors: https://algorithmsbook.com/optimization/files/optimization.pdf. They cover also algorithms that are not commonly included in those hard-core gradient- and newton-positive books. I recommend for those who want to have a broad overview of the whole discipline. Bonus for some: they use Julia in the book.
